The perfect verb tense tells us that an action is already finished or was completed before another action.
It uses a helping verb + past participle.
Formula:
Have / Has / Had + Past Participle
Example:
I have eaten breakfast.
She has finished her homework.
They had left before the rain started.
A. Present Perfect Tense
Used for actions that happened in the past but are important now.
Structure:
Have/Has + Past Participle
Examples:
I have read the book.
She has cleaned her room.
We have visited the zoo.
Tip for kids:
Use has for he, she, it.
Use have for I, you, we, they.
B. Past Perfect Tense
Used when one action happened before another action in the past.
Structure:
Had + Past Participle
Examples:
I had finished my homework before dinner.
They had played outside before it rained.
She had packed her bag before school.
C. Future Perfect Tense
Used for actions that will be finished in the future.
Structure:
Will have + Past Participle
Examples:
